Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha announced on Friday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sanctioned ex-gratia relief from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF). The aid includes Rs 2 lakh for the families of those who lost their lives in the recent floods and Rs 50,000 for individuals with serious injuries.
Dr. Saha expressed his appreciation on Facebook and praised PM Modi for the prompt assistance. “Thank you for your support! Dr. Saha added, “My sincere gratitude to Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji for announcing PMNRF ex-gratia relief of Rs 50,000 for the seriously injured and Rs 2 lakh for the next of kin of those who lost their lives in the floods.” He stressed that at these trying times, this act of kindness provides a great deal of assistance.
The deluge that devastated Tripura between August 19 and August 23 forced PM Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and the Tripura Chief Minister to communicate often. Both leaders kept a close eye on the situation and coordinated relief efforts, sending boats, helicopters, and more National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams to help with rescue and recovery work.
