During his visit to the South American country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was presented with the Order of Excellence, Guyana’s highest national honor. Mohamed Irfaan Ali, the president of Guyana, presented Modi with the honor, which acknowledges his outstanding contributions to the international community, his leadership, and his attempts to improve India-Guyana relations. “I dedicate the honor bestowed upon me to these very historical relations between India and Giuayana and our unbreakable friendship,” said Prime Minister Modi in an expression of gratitude.

Modi, who recently received the Dominica Award of Honour from the Commonwealth of Dominica for his leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic and contributions to bilateral ties, is receiving yet another international honor. Strong cultural and historical ties have been upheld between India and Guyana, and Modi has reaffirmed India’s willingness to increase collaboration in a variety of areas under President Ali’s direction.
