Prize Distribution Held for Wall of Democracy Competition 2025 in Lunglei

The Lunglei District Election Office today organised the prize distribution ceremony of the “Wall of Democracy Competition 2025”, an initiative held among various Electoral Literacy Clubs (ELCs) across educational institutions in the district to promote electoral awareness and democratic values among students.

At the ceremony held in the DC’s Office Chamber, Lunglei, the Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer, Pi Navneet Mann, presented prizes to the winners. Speaking on the occasion, she commended the efforts of all participants and highlighted the importance of ELCs in nurturing informed, responsible and active citizens. She noted that such creative activities help young people better understand the electoral process and inspire them to contribute positively to society.

Election Officer Pi Lalhruaitluangi presented a report on the competition, informing that ELCs have been established in 46 educational institutions across Lunglei District — including 35 secondary schools, 7 higher secondary schools and 4 colleges/institutions. Of these, 17 institutions (12 secondary schools, 2 higher secondary schools and 3 colleges) participated in the competition. District Information & Public Relations Officer and Media Nodal Officer Pu C. Lalhruaitluanga also elaborated on the evaluation process.
