Raveena Tandon said how Shah Rukh Khan reacted when he rejected her film on ethical grounds: ‘Are you mad?’

Actress Raveena Tandon, who has worked with Shah Rukh Khan in films like Jadoo and Zamana Deewana, recently revealed that she rejected a film with him because she found his costumes off-putting. Afraid of raising objections, Raveena backed out from the project, which surprised Shahrukh.In a recent interview, without revealing the name of the film, Raveena said that she was uncomfortable with what she was being asked to wear and Shah Rukh Khan’s reaction to her decision was, “Are you mad?”
In an interview with Filmfare, Raveena Tandon recalled refusing films that were not in line with her principles. He said, “There was a film with Shahrukh Khan and I had almost signed it, until we discussed the costumes. The costumes were really weird, and not something I felt comfortable wearing. I thought they were a little too offensive.”
“I said that, ‘Sorry, I can’t do this film’ and Shahrukh said, ‘Are you mad? Why are you saying no to it now?’ Because we were already doing a film which had the most amazing music, called Zamana Deewana. I think Shahrukh was the most intelligent, warm and gentle person. -He is a completely decent artist to work with, there is no doubt about it.I said, ‘Shhh (I was the first one to tell him that), I can’t wear that stuff. I would feel weird and awkward”, she added.
Raveena recalled doing sensual songs like “Tip Tip Barsa Paani”, but said that the outfits she wore on screen were never cheesy, but she definitely had a problem with the films she turned down. “I have said no to films for such reasons and I think that’s how the whole notion of ‘what does she think about herself’ came about,” Raveena said.
This was not the only time when Raveena rejected a film with Shahrukh Khan. Earlier, he had spoken of rejecting a role in the 1993 film Darr.
