The Aizawl District Consumer Protection Council, under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Lalhriatpuia, convened a meeting at the DC Conference Hall to discuss about the expansion of LPG home delivery services across the city. The government’s role in enabling the direct distribution of LPG to homes was the main topic of discussion during the conference. The presentation by Zothan Indane Agency, which detailed the achievement of 100% LPG Home Delivery Coverage over the areas under its authority, was one of the meeting’s highlights. This accomplishment has established a solid standard for other city distributors.
It is anticipated that LPG distributors operating in the Aizawl Municipal Corporation region would start growing their businesses in January 2025. In order to serve the places that did not previously have access to home delivery services, two more localities will be introduced in this instance. Under the direction of Additional Deputy Commissioner P.C. Zonuntluangi, a Monitoring Committee has been established to oversee this expansion and guarantee a smooth setup.
The committee will be in charge of ensuring that the gas companies continue to provide the level of expertise and service quality needed for the additional regions. The conference was attended by representatives from the Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL), the Mizoram Consumer Union (MCU), the Young Mizo Association (CYMA), various LPG agencies, and the Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Department.
