The eight teams in the Ranji Trophy quarter-finals this season have been settled. Last time’s finalist Bangla has long since left the competition. But last time champions Saurashtra made it to the quarter finals. The top two teams from each group qualify for the knock outs. The quarter final will be held this month.
Vidarbha and Saurashtra made it to the quarterfinals from Group A. Vidarbha finished top of the group with 33 points in 7 matches. Saurashtra is second with 29 points in 7 matches.Mumbai and Anthapradesh are the last eight from Group B. After playing 7 matches, Mumbai’s points are 37.
They finished at the top. Andhra finished second.Tamil Nadu finished top of Group C. Their points are 28 in 7 matches. Second placed Karnataka has 27 points from 7 matches. They will play in the quarter finals.
The second placed team from Group C will play against the top team in Group A in the quarter finals. Again, the top team in Group C will play against the second placed team in Group A. The second placed team in Group D will play against the top team in Group B under the same rules. Again, the top team in Group D will play against the second placed team in Group B.
