Shri KV Chandra, Deputy Director and Officer-in-charge at Software Technology, Parks of India, Aizawl, Mizoram paid a courtesy visit to Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati at the Raj Bhavan, today. In this courtesy meeting, the Governor raised questions on how Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) would be utilized in encouraging the Youth of Mizoram to enter entrepreneurship. Shri KV Chandra briefed the Governor on operational areas of the STPI and how they are engaged with the students of Mizoram University (MZU) and National Institute of Technology (NIT) Mizoram through open channel programmes and social media.
The Governor suggested the officials of STPI to create awareness program for the people of Mizoram on the aims and objectives of STPI through press and media. The STPI in collaboration with the Department of Information Technology & Communication (DITC), Govt of Mizoram, has set up its centre at Thuampui, Aizawl with a total build-up space of 4690.62 sq ft. STPI Aizawl was inaugurated on 11th August, 2018 under the STPI Guwahati Directorate in Mizoram.
STPI Centre at Aizawl is equipped with 53 nos. of Plug & Play incubation seats, a High-speed Internet Bandwidth facility, a Conference Room, an Uninterrupted power supply, a Captive DG Power system, and a Centres of Entrepreneurship (CoE) equipped with a lab in ‘Gaming & Entertainment’ domain. As far as 10 start-ups have been already selected for CoE Aizawl and are at different stages of onboarding.
STPI Aizawl has actively participated in various events like job fairs, outreach programs, etc where STPI has showcased facilities available at STPI Aizawl and start-up program OctaNE. This courtesy meeting was also attended by Shri Sunit Pillai, Project Associate and Shri Kumar Pal, Technical Officer of STPI.
