Traffic movement to Lengpui airport disrupted as highway collapsed

Traffic movement disrupted and several travellers faced problems as a highway linking Lengpui airport from Aizawl collapsed on Tuesday evening, officials said.They said that no vehicles, except two-wheelers, can travel as more than half of the highway collapsed due to rain.

They said that the highway is in the condition of further collapse as there are fissures or cracks. It may take time to repair the collapsed highway, they said.

Officials also advised travellers to take a sub-diversion road to ply between Lengpui airport and Aizawl.
