Two football players from Mizoram, Flavius Lalruakima and C Vanlalhriata, who are presently participating in the Shillong Premier League with the city-based Nongkiew Irat FC, were suspended by the Meghalaya Football Association. Officials claim they were involved in match-fixing activities in their native state, which led to the decision.
According to officials, Lalruakima and Vanlalhriata were two of 25 players who are now banned from the Mizoram Football Association for engaging in unlawful activities inside the sport. Due to their unlawful football-related activities, the Mizoram FA banned three officials, three clubs, and twenty-five players from all football-related activities for a range of lengths of time, from one year to life.
Following an investigation by the state’s law enforcement agencies, which found instances of corruption in the form of match manipulation that damaged football’s reputation, the decision was made. Seven of the 25 football players participated in the Meghalaya League the previous season.
