Two Myanmar nationals held with 5 lakh Meth tablets

Two Myanmarese nationals have been arrested in east Mizoram’s Champhai district for possessing Methamphetamine tablets on Wednesday, state Excise and Narcotics department said in a statement. The statement said that the department officials conducted an operation at Lalenga Lungdawh area in Tlangsam village in Champhai district near the Myanmar border on Wednesday and seized 50.2 kilograms (5 lakh tablets) of Methamphetamine from the possession of two Myanmarese nationals.

They were identified as Lallawmzuali (28) (female) and Lalramzauva (31), both from Khawmawi village in Myanmar’s Chin state, it said. The seized drugs were smuggled from Myanmar, it said.

The two accused were booked under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act 1985.
