Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri Nityanand Rai on his maiden visit to the district arrived at Siaha helipad this morning at around 8:30. He was received by district officials at the helipad.A short interaction cum meeting with the District MLAs, Members of District Council, Officials of the State and MADC as well as representatives from various NGOs from the district was held which was promptly followed by felicitation programme at CEM Bungalow.
Shri M Laikaw, Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Mara Autonomous District Council (MADC) extended his salutations to the Minister and his entourage on behalf of the people of the District stating that it was an honour to receive the Hon’ble Minister on his maiden visit to the district. He commended the Minister reiterating this visit as a sign of fulfilling the political aspiration of MADC with regards to the Amendment to the 6th Schedule of the Indian Constitution and wished him and his entourage blessings for their future endeavour. Union Minister of State Shri Nityanand Rai expressed his regret as his visit to the district was cancelled the day before due to bad weather. He assured that he would take all possible measures to resolve the issues brought forward by various representatives.
Shri Nityanand Rai, Union MoS asserted that the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi held the development of North Eastern States as a priority comprehending the fact that Developed India as a whole largely depends on the development of NE States. He mentioned that an exuberant amount of developmental works have been initiated in this regard which is evident today. He implored the people of the district to cooperate with the various border security forces deployed in the region to ensure security to the Nation.
Reiterating the fact the one of the main objective of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 is the promotion of regional languages across the country, he asked the people not to heed to rumours claiming it is done so to impose Hindi to the people of the country. He also broached about Citizenship Amendment which aims at granting citizenship to religious minorities from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. He declared that this is done so to provide safety to religious minority groups from these Countries and reaffirm the Secular Nature of India.
Shri Nityanand Rai, MoS for Home Affairs beseeched the gathering to give heed to the work of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for the Nation and to help spread his effort to other people for the development of the country. Union Minister Shri Nityanand Rai was accompanied by Shri Devesh Kumar, Bihar MLC & Mizoram State Prabhari, Shri Vanlalhmuaka, State President, Mizoram Pradesh and Shri Arjun Singh, Inspector (PA) CRPF.
