The Union Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare, Professor S.P. Singh Baghel on his two -day visit to Siaha met with Mara Thyutlia Py (MTP) and Mara Students’ Organization (MSO) leaders at CEM, MADC Residential Conference Hall here in the district capital today. At the outset, Professor S.P. Singh Baghel thanked and welcomed the leaders of MTP and MSO for their unending contributions to the people of the district. He expressed that their selfless works and commitments will ultimately results in the overall betterment of the people and that their charitable efforts will not go in vain. At the meeting, the leaders of MTP stated that they will celebrating their Platinum Jubilee and also will be organizing Youth Festival this year. They further pointed out that there are many cases of drowning at Kaladan river and therefore are in urgent need of a ‘life saving boat’.
In order to met out such necessity they appealed to the Central Minister for any help he can rendered. The leaders of MSO also briefed the Minister about the various issues and hindrance faced by the Students Organization. The Union Minister conveyed to the leaders of MTP and MSO that he had completly undertand their struggles and committed to help them in any possible manner at the earliest. Soon after the meeting, the Union Minister of State, Professor S.P. Singh Baghel headed to Maraland Gospel Centenary Hospital where he met with the authorities, Doctors and Nurses of the hospital. Prof. S.P. Singh Baghel applauded the service rendered by the hospital for the people particularly to the poor and needy .
He added that in order to get more financial support from the central government, the hospital should empanel itself for Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna ( PM-JAY) and asked the authorities to workout for such empanelment. He also assured them of more funds for the hospital. Later in the evening, the Union Minister of State attended a dinner party hosted by Shri M. Laikaw, CEM, MADC at his official residence.
