Mizoram Home Minister K. Sapdanga highlighted the Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) government’s key achievements in its first year, attributing the success to a structured and focused governance approach. Speaking at a ZPM Party Office event in Aizawl, he said the progress under flagship programmes reflects the government’s performance-driven model.
Sapdanga noted that after taking office, Chief Minister Lalduhoma instructed ministers to undergo 100 days of preparatory work before formally assuming their duties. This strategy, he said, allowed them to meet their initial goals effectively.
Funds have been allocated to support 10,000 farmers through various schemes. In the first year, 2,000 lakh quintals of turmeric were procured from 672 locations, benefiting over 20,000 farming families.
He also mentioned the Hand Holding Scheme for young entrepreneurs and highlighted the Chief Minister’s quarterly performance reviews of ministers as a mark of transparent governance.
Healthcare reforms include the successful rollout of the Mizoram Universal Health Care Scheme and proposed pension scheme expansions for the elderly, widows, and those without support.
